North Solihull Sports Centre…….this was a tournament based competition where competitors are matched in age and weight categories not experience…….as a result fighters can end up fighting against much more experienced opponents. We don’t usually compete in these type of events but we were struggling to get our juniors matched on a proper Muay Thai show.

Franky Sandor

Franky had a great fight and was strong from the start to the finish winning every round. Towards the end of the 3rd round he threw a body kick which slipped off his opponents block and glanced across his forehead. The lad was dazed and the fight was stopped…… the judges declared an illegal blow 2 to 1 and disqualified Franky!! We felt that was an unfair decision as it was an accidental blow and should have gone to score cards. Unfortunate decision but a great performance.

Sebastian Holub

Sebastian (7fights) fought a very experienced lad (50+fights) from a very good camp Weoley Castle. Sebastian should have fought in the weight category below. He started very well but it was clear from the 2nd round that his opponent was too experienced and too heavy. Sebastian showed lots of courage and fought as well as he could but it just wasn’t good enough. A good learning fight which he will definitely grow from.

Roo March-Mullaney

Roo has not fought for 3 years so he was nervous. His opponent was slightly more experienced, older and a good head taller and from Weoley Castle a very good camp. It was a good fight for both lads and was close. The lad used his height well and spoiled Roo a little. He scored well in the clinch with his knees whilst Roo scored well with his leg kicks well timed push kicks and strong body punches. Roo lost on points but was very pleased with his performance.

Thank you to our supporters and to my lovely nephew James who gave up his day to be there for us. 🧡
