Results Birmingham K Star Show
Another great show in Birmingham last night. Only 15 bouts of junior and adult fights, a mixture of N, C and B class rules.
Yusuf Ahmed
WickerCamp won his second fight on points with a good all round solid performance. Narrowly losing the first two rounds he then took the last three rounds scoring well with good solid all round techniques landing great boxing and kicking combo’s and dominating the ring.
Jude LancasterLomas
WickerCamp lost on points against a slightly more experienced opponent Cody Reeves.
Jude has been on a weight loss journey to get in the ring and fight. Weighing over 100kg in December he has trained hard this year and showed he has real dedication to the sport. He fought at 78kg and considering this was his first fight and not his proper fight weight (68kg) he fought really well and showed a lot of resilience and courage.
They had some good exchanges but Cody was just that bit sharper and slick in the end and Jude struggled at times to counter back and score. Late in the last round however, he caught Cody with a hook that really shook him and should’ve had an 8 count! A great first time performance for Jude.
Roo MarchMullaney
WickerCamp lost on points against Heston Thompson. This was truly an epic battle of all proportion!! Heston fought the perfect fight and credit must go also to Adrian MacGuire his trainer for that.
Heston was a machine and literally came forward for 5 rounds not allowing Roo to dictate the fight. Roo landed some great elbows in the early rounds, Heston replied with some heavy punches and good body kicks, good exchanges continued the whole fight…….. Roo used his knees very well in the 4th and 5th rounds landing solidly to Heston’s body. But it was too late and Heston’s work rate and sheer resilience and toughness won him the fight in the end. As we said after ‘a proper double hard bastard’ ….well done.
A tough good learning fight for Roo who will grow and come back better. I am so proud of you. ❤️
Thanks to Steve Logan and his great team of officials, it’s always a friendly atmosphere with good hospitality.
Thank you to our wonderful supporters who made the journey and to Pete McCormick for being my great corner man. Trix
