Both Roo and Franky fought Russian opponents yesterday in the semi finals.

Franky lost on points but gave a strong performance against a very aggressive and fast opponent. A good learning fight to take forward and use the experience gained for his next one. Well done for winning 🥉 medal.

Roo won on points and after just losing the first round came back strong and took the 2nd and 3rd against a very experienced and strong Russian fighter.

He is now through to the final today  against a Turkish fighter. Good luck Roo🥊

The boys are making fantastic memories as well as gaining invaluable experience competing against the best fighters from other countries, Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Greece, Iran, Iran. What an opportunity for them and again thanks to the generous and support from all at WickerCamp. X

Lowestoft 7th December

Leon fought in a 4 man tournament yesterday however one lad didn’t make the weight so there was only 3. Leon drew the first fight and unfortunately was stopped in the first round. His opponent came out fast and strong and landed three strong accurate knees in the clinch which Leon took an 8 count for and then got caught with a hook taking another count which counted him out. Leon worked well intermittently and landed a good head kick but just wasn’t expecting such a fast paced start. A disappointing result for Leon but a valuable lesson that you have to be prepared for the worst from the start and can’t start slow in a 3 round fight. Leon has performed excellent this year stacking up several wins as well as an English title.

Roman fought his second N class fight against a local lad who was slightly less experienced. His opponent looked strong and had a good right hand but Roman fought the perfect fight moving away and countering with good body kicks and his own straight punches. In the 3rd round Roman landed a solid accurate knee that dropped his opponent who took an 8 count and then Roman landed a well timed left kick to his opponents body that TKO’d him. An excellent result for Roman who always performs so well.

Thank you to Bin Tyler for the promotion and to James and Sebastian for their work in the corner. X
