Riley fought yesterday against a more experienced opponent and lost on points. After losing the first two rounds 9-10 he found his range and settled to win the third convincingly 10-9. This was his first time fighting at this international level and it was a good solid performance and valuable experience for the future.
Congratulations to Roo and Franky who won their quarter final fights today against tough opponents.
Franky won every round staying in control of the fight, using his footwork well and landing good punches and elbows combined with solid leg kicks.
Roo won the first two rounds and lost the third; an impressive 10-8 score in the second round looking very strong and dominant with excellent movement. He scored well with body kicks, punches and landed some good elbows.
Looking forward to the semi finals tomorrow where they both fight against Russian opponents.
