Well what a night on Koh Samui!!
A fantastic performance from Roo and great win to end the trip.
It was a mad night and the fight nearly didn’t happen…….there were two fighters from the Malaysia gym competing on the show and they looked similar. Roo’s fight against Arysh bout #1 and another called Amarul (a taller fighter) on bout #3.
We noticed that during the warm up they were getting Amarul gloved up!! Fortunately I had a photo of Arysh and asked M from Maenam MuayThai to ask why Arysh wasn’t getting ready? There was some confusion and it was established that because of the height difference the coach from Malaysia decided to try and switch opponents!!! Me and James were like “no way they cannot do that” and insisted that it had to be the original match with Arysh or Roo would not fight!
Congratulations to Roo and a big thank you to Maenam Muay Thai for all their help and effort to ensure this fight happened.
Our love goes out to James who was there for Roo all the way, he was filled with joy for his cousin but at the same time it was just a reminder of his lost opportunity. Let’s not forget Harry who also came on this trip and trained hard but unfortunately didn’t get a match in Australia, thank you to him for training with Roo and filming the fight. Xxx
