Jan Tancos (far right). This was Jan’s (17yrs old) 1st adult fight under N class rules (1.5 minute rounds with shin pads). Jan fought a much taller opponent with 1 fight 1 win experience at 68kg (a heavy weight for Jan).

The fight was a good match and both fighters fought well. Jan used his footwork well and landed some great leg and body kicks as well as some solid punches. The fight was close but his opponent was stronger and had a higher work rate so got the decision on points. An excellent first time performance.

Arkan Hussain (second from right). Arkan unfortunately had to fight K1 as his original opponent pulled out and it was the only match available. His opponent had a record of 4fights 4wins so it was going to be a tough 1st fight for Arkan.

First round was pretty even but Arkan used his footwork well and scored with good all round techniques. 2nd round was a good round for Arkan with some good exchanges, landing good solid counter body kicks and punches. About half way through Arkan unleashed a flurry of punches that forced an 8 count so 2nd round was secured. Third round his opponent came out with very strong boxing hunting for the KO. He caught Arkan a couple of times forcing an 8 count which lost Arkan the 3rd round!! The fight was very close with a split decision and the decision was given to Arkan. Another good solid 1st time performance.

Harry Hardwick (second from left). This was Harry’s 2nd fight under C class (5x 1.5 minute rounds). His opponent was 37yrs old and although similar experience had been training for a long time. Harry (6’6″) obviously had the height advantage but unfortunately just didn’t get started and just didn’t showcase his true potential. His opponent fought the perfect fight catching his push kicks and body kicks and taking Harry to the ground. He had a good defence and countered very well. When Harry used his boxing he gained the advantage but he struggled to get into the fight and just didn’t get the work done. A points loss and really unfortunate for Harry but a good learning fight.

Hassan Raja (far left). This was Hassan’s 6th fight but first Pro-Am Thai fight (5x 1.5 minute rounds with elbow pads). Hassan was excited to fight under these rules but his opponent had a very good record with wins against British Champions but had not fought for a while. Hassan’s fights are always exciting to watch as his style is very slick using excellent footwork and countering skills. His opponent fought well and was on the hunt constantly always dangerous. Hassan always gives a solid performance and fought the perfect fight and won unanimously on points.
