Energy crisis………
It is with a heavy heart that we are going to have to put our prices up due to the current energy crisis. We have traditionally kept our prices low to enable access for as many people as possible; we believe in fair trade and fair prices, anyone that has been with us for years will know that.
After Covid and the forced closures we endured (38 weeks in total) we actually reduced our prices as an incentive to bring students back into the gym, this worked very well. We also took a business loan out during Covid to sustain us and enable a total refurbishment; we do feel very lucky to have survived all that.
We now face another challenge, the ridiculous energy price increases which affects every one of us. Unfortunately our fixed term contract ends in October (real bad luck) and our energy bill, which is always very high over winter due to our poorly insulated building, will increase by a staggering £600/month for the next 2 years!!!!
We know that everyone is feeling the pinch and for some it is hitting harder than others. For this reason we have kept the increases to an absolute minimum (£1) and to help those on lower incomes introduced a student and unemployed rate. The new prices will start from the 1st October and will be displayed on reception and online.
Additionally we have had to look at consolidating some sessions to save on energy and expenditure and cut classes that are not well attended. As a result from the 1st October there will be no open sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning. The Saturday junior class will be moved to Sunday at 10am and the Sunday open session will be moved forward to 11am (new prices and timetable can be seen on reception).

We understand this will affect some students more than others but we will review these changes in the new year. We hope you understand that this is unavoidable and we have been forced to take these measures to ensure our future. We are always here to help anyone that is genuinely struggling. Just talk to us.
There will be a free monthly lottery for all students starting from the end of October (just pop your name in the pot) this will be drawn at the end of each month and the winner will receive a free month or a free private lesson.
