All the following fights are finals for the gold medal.
Wicker Camp fighters….
Roo March-Mullaney (14-15yr -67kg) fought a slightly taller opponent in the final from Poland called Marcel Bodzioch.
The first round saw both fighters working well with a range of good techniques. Roo was very nervous and tense and wasn’t his usual slippery self. Although the round was pretty even Marcel just edged it on his boxing scoring well with his hands spoiling Roo.
In the second round Roo settled in and found his range and his footwork. He used his ringcraft and angles to evade and counter with strong leg kicks and head shots taking the second round on points. By the third round he was well into the groove and scored with good all round techniques keeping busy which won him the round.
An excellent performance given these two fights were his first open fights AND under amateur full Thai rules!! A good points victory to take the gold medal.🥇
Sebastian Holub (14-15yr -57kg) fought Yuril Kryvokhyzha from Poland. Sebastian was a little under par due to a cold he picked up on arrival but warmed up well and looked ready. He started off very strong but was nervous and tense. After side stepping a push kick at the beginning of the 1st round he landed a strong hook to the head which took Yuril down but Sebastian followed through with a kick that landed to Yuril’s head when he was already on the canvas. Sebastian was deducted a full point so was on catch up for the rest of that round. He worked hard and after some good exchanges the round was pretty even by the end. Sebastian gave everything to catch up but unfortunately just didn’t have the energy to continue and retired from the fight. A fantastic performance and a good learning fight for him and again given it was his first amateur full Thai Rules tournament.🥈
Congratulations to Franky Sandor who fought well in the semi final yesterday to earn himself a bronze medal. 🥈
Other finalist from the UK….
Harry Moore Lumpini Fight Team (14-15yr -72kg) fought Jakub Malinowski from Poland. Harry dominated from the outset and commanded the ring landing strong well timed accurate straight punches to the head followed by strong kicks to the body and legs and won the first round comfortably.
The second round was pretty much the same until Jakub caught Harry with a well placed spinning elbow at the end of the round from which Harry took an eight count. Harry fought the perfect third round keeping it long and not getting drawn in scoring well with long punches and kicks. A solid points victory for the gold medal.🥇
Mohammed Haider Eight Limbs and Byron Collingswood DBMA (12-13yr -50kg) were both through to the finals but were in the same weight category so shared the gold medal place.🥇

Our fighters have gained so much from the weekend not only in terms of fight experience but more importantly being part of a team and working together to promote our fantastic sport.
